| Dear ChessBase friends, we trust you had a peaceful and
happy holiday week, and that our annual Christmas puzzles
brought you joy and not distress. The time has come, at last,
to submit your solutions to the eight problems listed below. |
What you can win
By submitting an answer to the Christmas problems you automatically
participate in a raffle for a very special prize. It is a copy of
our chess program Fritz, signed by some of the world's top players
(including at least one world champion). Depending on the number
of submissions more than one prize may be distributed.
In order to be eligible for a prize you must answer at least
three puzzles correctly. The winner will not be decided
on the basis of how many problems he or she has solved, but purely
by chance.
How to participate
- Please send your solutions to the email address given below.
- All entries must arrive by January 31, 2002.
- Only one entry per person. If more than one solution is received
only the first will be considered. You have plenty of time –
the order in which the solutions are received is irrelevant
to the drawing of the winner.
- Please include brief comments on the puzzles – not
too long, please! There will be an additional prize for
the nicest notes we receive.
- The correct solutions will be published in the first week
of February.
