Modern look, more mobile-friendly

The website of the World Chess Federation FIDE has always been quite informative and in some cases like Elo ratings, absolutely essential. Even though it was showing its age a bit, there are certainly worse chess websites to be found on the internet in terms of its visual design and usability.

Nevertheless, the FIDE homepage has now been given a fresh new look. Is it a success? Have a look, vote in our poll and let us know what you think in the comments below!

I think our New Zealander friend is complaining about his country missing on the map of the world as shown on the main landing page not that they are not listed as a member federation.

I don't like the new website, it was better before, was more informative.

(to zatopek) NZ is there - https://www.fide.com/directory/member-federations - look under Asia, or are you complaining that 'Oceania' is not listed separately?

fide has set standards so low that we get excited for a modern look website.

The search seems to show the same name several times if a person is an Arbiter, Player, Organiser, etc. They all link to the same profile.

On the other hand it doesn't the show Arbitor/Organising tab and history for people (like myself) who are have not [yet] got their qualification. The previous version of the site showed this and was useful in keeping track for future norm applications.

I almost never have good things to say about FIDE...but they've done well with this website upgrade. Good on them!

They have left New Zealand off the face of the earth completely.
