The four participants will play a double round robin, with each Swiss GM playing each German twice, at classical time controls (2 h / 40 moves + 1 h / rest). Kortschnoj and Lutz are the top players of Switzerland and Germany, Pelletier and Naiditsch are the brightest young stars of their countries.
All games will be transmitted live on the Fritz7 Playchess server. The second round will be played in Berlin on the next weekend. Venue: Casino Berlin, Alexanderplatz, 37th storey. Times: Saturday Sept 14th 2002, 14.00 MET, Sunday Sept. 15th 2002, 13.00 MET.
There will also be a national tournament Switzerland vs Germany for all players from these two countries. This will be held on the Playchess server from September 9 to 13. Great prizes! Registry by email at deutschschweizerschachwoche@schach.de.
