Dorian writes: "Due to its specific character and difficulty, the subject of time trouble is also poorly reflected in the chess literature. Usually the known recommendations of how to avoid the time-trouble seem to have little effect in the practice.

Besides reminding and explaining the already published elsewhere best recommendations, in my lecture on Thursday, December 11, I will also give advices based on my own experience. Just like in many other aspects of chess, to understand the problem (the right diagnosis) is half of the solution. During the lecture we (me and the audience) will discuss the reasons of getting into time trouble and figure out solutions in order to avoid it. Moreover, I'll talk about how to play/think/behave when you are already in time trouble."

For the uninitiated: the picture above depicts the most famous time trouble personality of them all – the White Rabbit in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

Here's a fine Alice chess set with time trouble white rabbits as pawns.
