Nigel Davies:
Build a 1.d4 Repertoire
Creating a Repertoire can be a difficult and demanding job, especially for
those with limited study time. Attempts to implement a lot of new openings at the
same time can set a player adrift in a sea of unknown chess patterns. This in turn can
have a catastrophic impact on their game.
On this DVD Nigel Davies explains how to go about this process of building a repertoire
the right way, with a minimal amount of stress or sweeping wholesale changes.

PlunderChess is traditional chess set with novel twist. It allows each player
the ability to strengthen their chessmen as the game is played out. This strengthening
comes as the chessmen capture and “plunder” additional moving capabilities
directly from their opponent’s pieces. For example, if a bishop captures
a rook, the capturing bishop may attach to itself a “rook vest”
that now empowers it to move as a rook on one future move whenever it chooses.

PlunderChess was first conceived in 1988 by a 30-year-old medical sales rep
living in Rhode Island. Now, over 15 years later, the company White Horse Games,
LLC is offering the game as a set with all the necessary parts to play the
game. They are also staging an exhibit at the 2003
National Scholastic K–12/Collegiate Championships December 12–14
in Rosemont, IL.
